The Alabama Supreme Court recently upheld the state’s ban on the sale of sex toys, but Love Stuff, the Hoover, Alabama store that filed the challenge, has no plans to stop selling the devices.

While people have the right to use the devices in private, the Legislature has the right to ban public distribution of those products, the court majority ruled in a 7-2 decision.

Love Stuff had asked the court to strike down the 1998 law, arguing that the ban violated a person’s right to sexual privacy. The court upheld the law, saying public morality was a legal reason to regulate sales. “Public morality can still serve as a legitimate rational basis for regulating commercial activity, which is not a private activity,” Associate Justice Michael F. Bolin wrote in the majority opinion.

The judges cited an opinion from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta that also upheld the law from a legal challenge filed by the American Civil Liberties Union.

“As the 11th Circuit pithily and somewhat coarsely stated: `There is nothing `private’ or `consensual’ about the advertising and sale of a dildo,’” the majority opinion said.

Love Stuff attorney Amy L. Herring said the store is reviewing its options. That may include an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, because appellate circuits have decided the legal issues differently, Herring said.

“It’s been an issue in the Southeast because no one else has a problem with this,” Herring said.

Regardless, the store does not plan to close, she said.

Herring said she was pleased that two justices dissented from the majority opinion.

OK does anyone else think this is about the most dumb ass thing you've heard of?? A State in the United States telling you, you cannot buy a sex toy of any type to use in the privacy of you're own home, has got to be one of the single most backward, crazy, insane places on the freaking planet!! Facebook Does An About Face And Reinstates Model’s Profile

TORONTO—It turns out Facebook is not immune to negative publicity after all, especially when it has to do with gorgeous Playboy models getting booted willy-nilly off the site.

After Toronto resident and model Anissa Holmes had her profile disabled last month for posting non-nude photos to her page that were considered too racy by the social networking monolith, a whole pile of poop hit the fan. To make matters worse, Facebook also disabled the profile of radio show host Ryan Doyle after he did a story on Holmes’ social networking misfortune.

Well, Big Brother obviously did not realize that little sister was not going to take the slight sitting down. Holmes filed a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada after Facebook refused to return or delete the hundreds of pictures she had posted on her page, and the media coverage that only seemed to be growing finally forced FB’s hand.

Yesterday both Holmes, 28, and Doyle, 32, were notified that their profiles had been reinstated.

According to the Toronto Sun, a Canadian-based Facebook spokesperson declined to comment on the situation. “Citing privacy, we just can’t comment on individual user accounts,” Alex Brown told the paper, which also reported that Facebook apologized to Holmes but not to Doyle.

No word from Holmes how she survived her time in exile, but Dolye was clearly thrown for a loop.

“It was horrible, absolutely horrible,” Doyle said, describing his four days in hell. “I just felt so out of touch with everybody I know. I was talking about it with a friend and I compared it to when you get kicked out of the bar, and you don’t know why you got kicked out of the bar, and all you can do is stand outside and see all of your friends in there still having a good time.”

OK, finally facebook is caught and made to look like an ass but it took a Playboy bunny to do it. I was reading about a study funded by the Atlanta-based Center for Behavioral Neuroscience (CBN) that analyzed the viewing patterns of men and women while looking at sexual photographs. Quite interestingly, the results were not what one typically might expect.


Researchers hypothesized women would look at faces and men at genitals, but, surprisingly, they found men are more likely than women to first look at a woman’s face before other parts of the body, and women focused longer on photographs of men performing sexual acts with women than did the males. The finding of this research confirmed the hypothesis of a study in 2004, that reported men and women showed different patterns of brain activity when viewing sexual stimuli. The present study I was reading about, examined sex differences in attention by employing some type of eye-tracking technology that pinpoints individual attention to different elements of each picture such as the face or body parts. Well, apparently men looked at the female face much more than women. Both looked at the genitals equally. Justice Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin was speaking before the Dutch parliament during a session aimed at coming up with new ways to deal with child pornography. Just so everyone knows, the age of consent in the Netherlands is 16.

The Socialist and Labour parties wanted the government to introduce a law making it compulsory for Dutch website owners and operators to keep model records, as is required in the United States under 18 U.S.C. 2257.

But according to Justice Minister Ballin, it’s not realistic to do this. The Justice Minister said it would be going “really far” to expect the owners and these sites to hold copies of the identity papers of all the models involved.

“The sheer volume of pornographic material, the fact that so much of the material comes from outside the Netherlands and is often dated, makes this, in fact… an impossible task for those running these sites,” Minister Ballin said.

The justice ministry already has the tools it needs to close down websites using underage models, the minister added.

Wow, how about that, guys!! Interesting huh? Child pornography is simply disgusting and wrong, yes… but keeping these ridicules records doesn’t stop it or curb it. It’s just a huge pain in the butt and it’s time the United States reconsiders this activity itself!

Sure, look at some ID and get model releases signed… but the idea of having all this tons of unnecessary record keeping is past its time. Kisses…

I'm lucky, because all my friends in the industry are really great people and seem to have made intelligent, informed choices and are leading normal healthy happy lives. I'm really happy for that too!

OK, I think sex is healthy!
